The AFS Interculture Canada Foundation is committed to help young people go abroad regardless of their financial situation. That is why the AFS Foundation works with corporate & community sponsors and individual donors to help finance AFS programs with more than 5 different bursaries to choose from.

What are my chances of obtaining a bursary?

The probability of granting a bursary is based on the participant’s financial need. AFS is making strenuous efforts to help youths who want to go abroad to fulfill their dreams. To become a beneficiary of our financial support, candidates must meet the selection criteria.

Frequent asked questions on bursaries

The participants who receives a bursary undertakes to :

  • Complete the intercultural competences certificate 
  • Volunteer for a minimum of 6 hours for AFS upon return

For regular bursaries the AFS Foundation can offer:

– 5000$ for a one-year school program
– 4000$ for a semester school program
– 3000$ for a trimester school program
