As a volunteer at those projects you will spend your work hours, leasure hours and sleeping hours at your project. You will have all meals there together with your fellow volunteers, students and teachers. There will be a variety of activities also in evenings and weekends open for you to take part in or you may choose to relax together with your fellow volunteers\/students or visit places in Denmark in weekends. You may also choose to visit your Danish \u201ccontact family\u201d, during some weekends and holidays and in that way have the opportunity to experience Danish culture and daily life outside your project.

\nApplicants should indicate the preferred type of project. Spots are limited so we strongly advise participants to indicate more than one project type.

Non-EU citizens will need to apply for residence and work permit at the closest Danish embassy\/consulate.
\nEU citizens only need to register with the Danish authorities after their arrival and do not need to apply in advance. There is no cost involved in that. Participants can travel freely within Denmark and the Schengen countries during weekends and holidays, as long as permission is granted by the host family and as long as AFS DEN is informed in advance.
\nUsually non-EU residents will not be able to stay beyond the program period due to visa restrictions.
\nDenmark is an expensive country. For personal spending money during the program period AFS DEN recommends participants to have a minimum of USD 170 per month.
\nMost participants will be placed in the countryside or in minor towns. Placement in Copenhagen and other major cities are hardly ever possible.<\/p>\n","program_distributed_info":"
